Asbestos Survey
As a UKAS Inspection Body, we work all over the UK and have vast experience in carrying out all three types of asbestos surveys, as described in HSE's publication MDHS100.
All our analysis is done by our own UKAS laboratory, which meet our criteria in accordance with our ISO/IEL 17025 accreditation. The reports we produce can be as simple or complicated as the situation demands. We can produce measured or approximate CAD drawings, and have the ability to produce drawings to A0 should this be required.
With ex HSE Inspectors in our company, our advice is always legally accurate, and our experience in health and safety gives us the edge in producing workable solutions to the on going problems of managing asbestos in buildings.
| Type of Survey | Brief Description |

| Type 1 Presumptive Survey | The purpose of this survey is to locate as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspected asbestos containing materials in the building and assess their condition. This survey is useful in areas where sample taking would not be appropriate, i.e. food preparation premises, operating theatres. | Type 2 Sampling Survey | In this type of survey a surveyor will take samples to confirm or to exclude a material from suspicion of containing asbestos. | Type 3 Invasive Survey | This survey is used to identify all asbestos containing materials before demolition or refurbishment. It will damage the fabric of the building and is ideally carried out in an unoccupied building. If this type of survey is carried out in an occupied building it will identify most of the asbestos containing materials, but may be destructive to the asthetics and will cause damage to the decor. |
